Press Release – OVIVO Mobile Appoints Three Non-Exec Directors

OVIVO MOBILE APPOINTS THREE NON-EXEC DIRECTORS

AS £150K CALL FOR INVESTMENT CLOSES

Heavyweight business experts boost MVNO’s prospects for growth

OVIVO has announced the appointment of three new non-executive directors to support its ambitious plans for future growth: finance expert James Longley; advertising and marketing veteran Martin Smith and mobile and digital entrepreneur and author Tony Fish.

Launched in April 2012, OVIVO Mobile provides freedom from monthly contracts by giving customers free usage each month supported by a range of advertising, mobile commerce and value added services.

The new NEDs will add their extensive complimentary skills and expertise in finance, marketing and technology to the considerable mobile industry experience of founder and CEO Dariush Zand and Chairman David Jones, a 20-year plus Vodafone executive.

The appointments come as OVIVO Mobile closes its £150,000 call for investment via equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.com on Sunday, March 17.

Dariush Zand, OVIVO Mobile CEO and founder, said: “I am flattered that James, Martin and Tony have agreed to put their time and reputation behind OVIVO. It speaks volumes for our prospects and I don’t believe that we could have chosen a better team.

“We are one of the only operators in the world to use a business model of this nature, where we focus on driving revenue from value added services, as opposed to from the service itself.

“All the while, we maintain a quality customer experience and, though the service is great value, we do not compromise on quality or care.”

OVIVO Mobile Non-Exec Directors:

James Longley

James is a chartered accountant whose career, after leaving Arthur Andersen, has concentrated on venture capital/private equity and building growth companies. In 1989 he led the £10.5m MBI of The Wilcox Group. He was also co-founder, and CFO of NASDAQ quoted BioProgress Inc., subsequently AIM listed. James was also co-founder and CFO of PhotoBox, Europe’s largest on-line photo-finishing business with turnover of £150m and 22 million users. It acquired Moonpig.com in 2011 for £120m.

Martin Smith

Martin was a co-founder and Deputy Chairman of Bartle Bogle Hegarty helping to grow the company to one of the most awarded and renowned ad agencies in the world. Martin was later CEO at Grey Worldwide and is now Chairman of the RedRoute Agency. He is also a lay member of the Institute of Cancer Research

Tony Fish

Tony has more than 20 years experience in mobile and digital with blue-chip and high-growth companies, and venture capital. He’s a founder of a number of businesses including mashup, iNeed, Innovation Warehouse (a leading incubator for early stage high tech companies), in Digital and AMF Ventures. Tony is also an accomplished author with titles including ‘My Digital Footprint’, ‘Mobile Web 2.0’ and ‘Open Gardens’.
